SoundHound Android ID FAB Animations
As part of the overall SoundHound app redesign in 2013 I took on the challenge of redesigning the animation system to fit within the design language of KitKat/Lollipop while optimizing it to be less UI resource intensive. I liked some aspects of the prior animation, so in order to make it grounded in that SoundHound look & feel I reduced the thickness of the lines and simplified the elements to the bare essentials.
Because the UX placement of the button changed deeper within the app due to business considerations, I designed the animation to eminate from the buttons other position in a consistent and meaningful way in order to preserve a SoundHound'ers spacial mapping. I was also playing with the idea of button press+hold triggering voice search and voice control actions so in the attached iOS design you can see how the icon was set to change to give proper feedback for the mode active.

Compound navigation bar - Concept Animation/Transition, I'm trying to blend multiple features into the top navigation bar, such as switching module, searching content, opening task panel... Here's just a part of the concept, I will show more content in the later works.
