The illustrations were created by a designer in Illustrator and I animated them in After Effects.

WOODLAWN Movie Title

I spent a little over 1 year working on the film WOODLAWN. I'm really proud of the fact that the font that @[468625:Greyson Sofia MacAlpine] and I picked out for the first temp poster, League Spartan, was used throughout post-production and eventually in the final poster and film. It was even used as the title font for two books telling the real-life story of this movie.

I wanted a realistic looking texture for the titles. To achieve this look I created stencils for each letter and painted textures with a foam paint brush. The painted texture was then scanned in, adjusted in Photoshop, and then layered and animated in After Effects.

I also created the title graphics animation for every version of the trailer. You can see the main trailer here.

I'm available for freelance work! Message me on Dribbble or business(at)JeremiahWarren(dot)com.

Same-page browse

Users tend to switch back and forth frequently between category and items’ detail pages while doing window shopping on mobile platform. However, in most Apps, the ‘back’ button in the detail page is located on the top left corner, which makes it very difficult to reach. Also switching between different pages is not a very smooth user experience.

To solve those two problems, I came up with the ‘Same-page browse’ UI. Once user clicks any item, the picture will be enlarged to take the same space as a typical detail page. The tab bar and navigation bar will move away, but the top and bottom of the category page is still visible but become darker as the background. To close the detail page, users can simply tap anywhere on the bottom part. The animation and layout make the user feel he/she can navigate without leaving the category page. The intuitive interaction makes the switching much easier and faster.

Inbox Peek

Back in 2014 I was approached by a Silicon Valley based Start-Up to help them with their iOS email client.

Inspired by Snapchat's interaction to view a photo, I was thinking about how it could be adapted to a different domain.

To peek into an email, you simply had to press and hold any item in your inbox. The actions in the bottom of the screen would be triggered by the x-position of your finger.

Push Alert Prompt and Trending Articles for BuzzFeed iOS app

This is another throwback to a design from Spring 2014, and shipped in the BuzzFeed iOS app in Fall 2014.

The goal here was to design an experience for browsing the top and trending 20 posts of the moment in a digestible and gleanable way (e.g. more metadata like the dek would appear in landscape orientation).

Because the list was finite and updated periodically, this design punctuated the list with a success summary at the end of the scroll, followed by a prompt to opt into alerts about any other trending posts through push notifications.

(This prototype was originally built in Framer, then rebuilt in Principle for this recording.)
